No Jewels, No Nothing

Married to the Sea. Again. Thank you, Lauren, for sending me this one too.

www.marriedtothesea.com

I can't think of anything for myself at the moment, but if that grizzly bear was my sister, I'd play Isis (track 2 on Desire). Something about the rhymes she just can't handle...

She said, where ya been?
I said, no place special.
She said, you look different.
I said, well, I guess.
She said, you gonna stay?
I said, if you want me to, yes.

Riding? Writing? Both?

Pretty sure this is my second favorite one line song.

Guesses on my favorite favorite?  Your favorite favorites?

All the Tired Horses is track 1 on Self Portrait.

When It's a Special Day

I talked a five year old today about school.  I asked her if there were any subjects or games or teachers that she really liked.

She went silent for maybe 10 seconds, thinking, remembering, wondering.  And then she said:

I like it when it's a special day and we make rice krispie treats or something.

Jerry Seinfeld would have predicted that answer.

Love and Popsicles

I think I might be checking in on this site every once in a while.

At first, I thought there was something a little bit suspect about the concept.  I don't love comparisons.  They make me think of favorites.  Favorite pets, favorite friends, favorite children.

But I'm coming around.  Comparing apples to cubist clay sculpture works in a way that apples to oranges simply doesn't.

I love you more than I love popsicles.

Exactly.
